Sean: So people say you come across really differently in person than on screen. Especially with Euphoria — that character is pretty intense. Sydney: Yeah, totally. I come across as really shy at first, but I'm actually super outgoing once I'm comfortable. When I meet new people, I take a while to open up. On camera, I can hide behind the character. But in real life, I'm just — a goofy person. I'm still just a theater kid at heart, you know? That's where I started, and I think I'll always be that kid.

Sean: Tell me about that audition you've mentioned before — the one where something went wrong. Sydney: Oh god. Okay, so this was for a movie I really, really wanted. I had prepared for weeks. I knew every line. And I got into the room and completely froze. Then I ended up crying in the middle of the audition. Like, full tears. I was so embarrassed, I wanted to walk out. But somehow I pulled off the scene — I just leaned into it and made the tears part of the character. When I saw the reaction online after the show aired, I literally lost it. Best feeling ever.
