These phrases feel fresh and fun, but they move fast. What's hot in January can feel cringe by summer. That's the tricky thing about celeb-driven slang — it spreads at lightning speed, but it also burns out just as fast.
One phrase that's really taken off lately is "it's giving." As in, "This outfit? It's giving main character energy." It's a way of saying something has a strong vibe or feeling. You don't even need to finish the sentence — people just get it.
Another one you'll spot constantly is "no cap," meaning "no lie" or "I'm being serious." Celebs use it to sound more real and relatable. Like, "This is the best album I've ever made, no cap." It's casual, punchy, and feels honest.
The fun part? A lot of these expressions started in Black American communities online, then caught on globally through TikTok and celebrity culture. By the time you see them on a brand's official Twitter account, they're already on their way out. That's just how internet language works.
