I will share the information shortly." You hit send. It's perfectly correct. And yet... it feels oddly formal, like you just sent a fax in 2025.
Here's the thing: in many English-speaking workplaces, especially on chat tools like Slack or Teams, people deliberately keep it casual. A simple "On it!" or "Sure, I'll loop you in by EOD" does the job way better than a stiff three-liner.
Japanese workplace culture often values careful, polished phrasing — even in chat. But in many Western offices, a short punchy reply actually signals confidence and respect for the other person's time. Saying "Got it, leave it with me" sounds warmer and more natural than "I will handle this matter accordingly."
A few other phrases worth keeping in your back pocket: "Sounds good to me," "Happy to help!" and "Just a heads-up..." when you want to give someone a quick warning. These tiny shifts in tone can really help you come across as approachable rather than robotic.
You don't have to sound like a different person. Just think of it as adjusting the volume — same message, slightly warmer delivery.
